Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. My family visited, I've been doing a lot of traveling, and now I'm finishing up finals. It's really hectic!

My last final is on Saturday, June 2, so I will try to catch you all up on my goings-on that night. Thanks for your patience!

Hey everybody! Right now I have my mother and two grandmothers visiting me. Luckily it coincides with a free weekend and an extra day off from school. We've been exploring, shopping, eating out (which I never do here!) and I've learned some new stuff myself about this city.

Tomorrow I have an excursion with my school to see a couple new towns near Geneva, so pictures will be posted soon after, have no fear!

Also, I have a countdown going for how many days I have left here in Geneva, and its only a little over 20. :-( I will be very sad to leave, though I am going on to something bigger and (possibly) better. It's just sad leaving behind my first European home, and daunting to think of learning a new transportation system, where to get groceries, packing all my stuff up, etc. I'm glad I'll have friends A and C in the city with me to help!

More later this weekend. Bye!

Friday I went to Zurich for the day. It's only about 3 hours away, so its doable, and there isn't really a whole lot there to see (gee, and I thought Geneva wasn't touristy). First I ran over to the Swiss National Museum because it's right by the train station:
and spent a while in there looking at everything. Some stuff I already knew because of my classes at the Smith Center, which was cool. Then I went down one of the major shopping streets and crossed over a bridge:
in order to get to the Kunsthaus museum, which has lots of French artists, actually. They have two waterlilies by Monet. But what I really liked were paintings by Heinrich Fussli:
I had never heard of him before but I really liked his works, all of them.

After I went and saw a few churches that honestly aren't really worth showing you. Two of them I only saw from the outside because they charged admission (I have a major problem with churches charging money to see them) and the one that I did see inside didn't allow photos. So instead I'll show you pretty pictures of the city!:

Ta da!
So last weekend I went to Stockholm! As I have Swedish ancestors, I figured it would be good to take the opportunity to go while I can. I wasn't disappointed.

I arrived on Thursday night (after almost getting stuck in Copenhagen due to delays) and slept in the airport that night. Before you all freak out- there were tons of other people around, I have a lock for my suitcase, and I looked up information on it online beforehand. After a not-so-good night's sleep (comfy bench, way too much noise) I headed into town to find my hostel in the Gamla Stan (Old Town). It was a really cute place and in the center of town.

Then I went exploring! I saw the National Museum and spent probably 3 hours there, it had so much cool stuff! I also found this GORGEOUS park:
and I had lunch nearby. Then I went back to the hostel to nap before I had to pick up L at the train station at 1am because she missed her flight and didn't get in until 11. Then we stayed up until 4 am talking and eating pasta lol.

Lots of sleep, then back out exploring! We saw the palace:
inside and out. Who knew Sweden still had monarchs?!

We took pretty pictures by the park I already showed you and had lots of chai tea at a cafe nearby. After more random exploring (and hot dogs. They have tons of hotdog stands there) we tried to find the National Library and got very lost/walked way farther than needed. Basically it wasn't where it said it was on my map, which of course makes it very  hard to find. We stopped for dinner and drinks, though, and had amaaaazing Italian food (don't judge- it's impossible to find traditional Swedish food there, go figure).

The palace has weird hours (only 12-4) so we went back again on Sunday for a bit and explored the Old Town, and got postcards. Then we had to catch our planes back to our respective countries, and I arrived home just in time for dinner!

There are more pictures on my Facebook, of course, so you can look at those if you want to see more!
